Do you need to connect to the VPN?
You should be able to access your work email without needing to connect to the VPN. However, if you need to access network drives or internal applications, you must first establish a VPN connection. If neither is required, you may disconnect from the VPN, which should improve overall web browsing performance.
Connecting to the VPN:
You can connect to the VPN by right-clicking on the Sophos Connect icon, a blue and white circle with a blue dot in the center, at the bottom right of your screen. If it's not visible, click the up arrow (located in the system tray) next to the small icons.
You can also start the Sophos Connect software from the Start menu by searching for Sophos Connect.

Next, select "Connect" in the top right corner.

You will then be prompted for your username, password, and "new one-time token or passcode."
Authenticator Set up:
If you have not set up an authenticator app, go to this website: OKWU VPN Portal and log in. You will need your OKWU username and password and complete a CAPTCHA prompt. Once you log in, a QR code will be displayed.
For the next step, you will need to have an authenticator app installed on your mobile phone. We recommend Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, but LastPass and Salesforce also offer reliable authenticator apps on the App Store. Once you have an authenticator app installed, open it, select the "Add Account" button, and scan the QR code from the VPN portal using your authenticator app. This will create a new secure token that generates a rotating six-digit passcode, which you'll need to sign in to Sophos Connect to initiate your VPN connection.
