Do you need to connect to the VPN?

You should have no issues accessing your work email without connecting to the VPN, but if you need to do anything connected to a network drive, you will need to connect to the VPN first. That said, if you don't need network drives or applications, you can disconnect the VPN, which should improve your general web browsing experience.

Connecting to the VPN:

You can connect to the VPN by right-clicking on the Sophos Connect icon, a blue and white circle with a blue dot in the center, at the bottom right of your screen. If it's not visible, click the up arrow (system tray) next to the small icons.

You can also start the Sophos Connect software from the start menu by searching for Sophos Connect.

Next, select "Connect" in the top right corner.

You will then be prompted for your username, password, and "new one-time token or passcode"

You will get your token/one-time passcode from your authenticator app on your phone or browser.

Authenticator Set up:

If you have not set up an authenticator app, go to this website: OKWU VPN Portal and login. You will need your OKWU username and password and to complete a captcha prompt. Once you log in, it will show you a QR code.

For the next step, you must have an authenticator app on your mobile phone. We recommend Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, but LastPass and SalesForce also offer reliable authenticator apps on the app store. Once you have an authenticator app installed, open it, select the Add Account button, and scan the QR code from the VPN portal with your authenticator app. This will create a new secure token that will generate a rotating six-digit passcode, which you'll need to sign in to Sophos Connect to start your VPN connection.

Sophos Connect Setup:

If your Sophos Connect app shows "Import" instead of "Connect" in the blue button, you must import the attached OWKU_Remote file below. Download it and then import it to your Sophos Connect app.
